FACE (TOP)
|
|
Botox
Botox is a natural substance purified. When it is injected in small dosis in the face´s muscles, it paralyses them partially avoiding its contraction and preventig by this way the appearence of new wrinkles on the face.
Wrinkles on the face, particularly those of the peri-ocular region, disappear in three days after an injection of Botox. However, the paralysing effects of Botox are always temporaries. One injection lasts, in average, between four to six months. Of course, it is neccessary to repeat the treatment in order to preserve the youthful look on the face.
The treatment is practised without anesthesia, it´s ambulatory (at the physician´s office) and can be repeated as many times as the patient desires.
|
|
Cheeks
The cheeks are one of the outstanding areas of the face most selected for the treatment.
The cheek filling treatment is ambulatory, and does not require hospitalization of any kind or recovery.
|
|
| Lips
For those who are willing to bring out the natural shape of their lips, the different fillings techniques can be the solution. The intervention is very simple, just takes a few minutes at the physician´s office and it´s ambulatory.
|
|
Nasolabial folds (smile wrinkles)
The nasolabial folds (smile wrinkles) can be smoothed over with injectable filling products. It is carried out in clinic, it is ambulatory and it doesn´t require period of rest.
|
|
Frontal lift
The frontal lift, also known as upper lift, is a surgical intervention aimed to correct the settling of the eyebrows and to reduce the forehead wrinkles. The frontal lift is made by the traditional technique or by endoscopy (which leaves almost invisible scars).
|
|
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)
The blepharoplasty is one of the most popular methods and one of the most effective for giving the face a dynamic and youthful look.
The surgery is done in one hour. It´s only necessary local anaesthesia and it´s an ambulatory surgery. For the upper eyelids, an incition is made on the natural fold of the skin. For the lower eyelids, the incition is made on the inside of the eyelid (called transconjunctival blepharoplasty).
This technique allows the removal of the adipose tissue without leaving scars on the skin.
After the surgery, you will be able to move without problem and use sunglasses just inmediately after, but you will have to avoid forcing your eyes between the 24 to 36 first hours.
The stiches (only upper eyelids) will be removed 4 or 5 days after.
|
|
Westernizing eyelids
This surgery is aimed to turn the Asian eyes into “Western” eyes. The procedure gives a more oponed and circular contour to the eyes by changing the shape of the eyelids and its muscles.
For this surgery only is necessary local anesthesia, it is ambulatory, and the patient will have to avoid forcing his/her eyes between the 24 to 36 first hours.
The stiches will be removed 4 or 5 days after.
|
|
Rhinoplasty (nose surgery)
The rhinoplasty can improve the shape of the nose (nasal bone, tipo of the nose, etc.) in order to reach the harmony between the nose and the different structures of the face. It is an ambulatory surgery (no internment require), and anti-inflammatories are recommended to reduce the bruises of the first days.
|
|
Ears surgery
This is a surgical technique that corrects the “bat ears”. The surgery joins the ears to the skull.
It´s an ambulatory surgery, with local anaesthesia, where eventually a sedative can be used in case of anxiety.
There´s no need of particular rest, it is possible to go back to the usual activities the day after, and it is not indispensable to have a bandage.
The lobes can also be corrected (see picture) or an ear reconstruction can be carried out when the cases are more complex (usually three operative times are necessary).
|
|
Lips surgery (enhancement, reduction or lift)
When the lips are too narrow and thin (sometimos as a result of the aging process) or when they are too big, they can be easily corrected with a simple surgery (or lift) that only needs local anesthesia and a minimum recovery time, leaving not visible scars as they rest hidden inside the mouth.
|
|
Chin surgery (implant)
The chin surgery or mentonplasty consists on having an implant in order to give shape to the lower maxilar in case you have an absent chin.
This surgery makes younger the profile of men and women. It is practised under local anesthesia, and a small incision is made on the chin to place the implant correctly.
It is also possible to obtain similar results with the techniques of injectable fillings.
|
|
Facial lift
The incision is made on the sideburns, around the ear and in the zone of the scalp behind the ear. The scars are almost invisible in the 99% of the cases.
After the surgery, the patient has to rest under medical care during three hours, and then she will be able to be accompanied to home.
The day after the surgery, the bandage is removed and the patient can go back to her usual activities such as taking a shower, washing her face or combing her hair.
|
|
Neck surgery
In many cases, the neck also needs a surgery to extract the excess of flacid skin and to recompose the neck muscles. The purpose of this surgery is to improve the angle formed by the jaw and the neck. Depending on the case, there are several treatments that can be recommended:
When the patient presents accumulation of fat in the neck or jowl, the ideal treatment is a liposuction. However, in the case of people of advanced age, the neck liposuction is usually carried out with a neck lift that allows the removal of the excess of skin, eliminating the wrinkles as well. Finally, many times it is necessary the manipulation of the musculature to obtain an elevation of the angle: here it is necessary the correction of the platisma muscle, procedure that is generally carried out after –or combined with- a neck lift.
This surgery can be carried out under local or total anesthesia and it doesn't require days of internment. The scars result perfectly hidden in the inferior part of the chin or, in some occasions, in the mucosa of the inferior lip.
|
|
Face and neck lift
This is the facial surgery most known aimed to treat laxity and wrinkles of the half and inferior third of the face, as well as the neck.
The incisions are made in the temporal, pre and retroauricular areas, ending up hidden in the mastoidale region. The skin then is unstuck tightening it, giving the desired lift effect. In the case of the neck, the laxity of the platysma muscle and the neck wrinkles are treated with the same technique.
This surgery redefines the whole face, giving it back a juvenile profile.

|
Total lift without surgery: the technique of the tensor French threads
The tensor threads are made of sterilized, biocompatible, non absorbable and high resistant Polyamides (polypropylene) which come in diverse lengths and models according to the technique or zone to be treated (face, arms, breasts and legs among others).
Tensor Threads procedures are easy and quickly performed, rehabilitation is short term and the final outcome can be visualized on the operating table at the conclusion of the procedure.
The procedure can be performed in the physician´s office. Zones to be treated are marked with skin markers. Then, local infiltration anesthesia is performed. A spinal needle is introduced through the cellular tissue following the marked area.
Threads are introduced through the needle, thereafter, needle being withdrawn. The smooth threads remain inside the skin. Each thread is manufactured with dents (cogs) that create slanting edges with sharp ends. The cogs provide a unidirectional travelling of the thread through soft tissue that prevents movement in the opposite direction to the insertion. This provides a uniform and even gathering of soft tissues, creating lift volume contour.
The ends of the threads are then cut below the skin surface. It is advisable to prescribe antibiotics for a week after procedure is performed.

SKIN (TOP)

|
Not everyone can have naturally the beautiful “baby” or “porcelain” skin. However, at the moment there exist numerous methods to treat the acne las marcas de acné marks, the fatty complexion, the small wrinkles, the different stains product of the aging process.
Depending on the case, here we offer you different options:
|
|
Microdermabrasion
The dermabrasion is mostly used to remove the superficial layer of the aged skin (epidermis and the superior layer of the dermis) allowing the restructuration and the complete or partial regeneration of it. It is mainly recomended for removing wrinkles (of different sizes), acne´s scars, and the dyschromy (stained skin).
A deep scrapping of the layers of the skin will result in cell renewal as well as in an increase in collagen and elastin cells due to a mechanical stimulus. Noticeable skin imperfections such as acne sequels or wrinkles around the mouth are eliminated through this technique.
Each treatment lasts between 20 to 30 minutes and the procedure is performed on an out-patient basis and local anesthesia is administered.
|
|
Peeling
This procedure is used to reduce wrinkles and superficial melanic spots, which results in a smoother, more elastic and better looking skin. It is also used for the treatment of acne grade 1 and 2, since it is helpful to remove skin impurity, as well as for the treatment of involutive skin. Usually, the peeling is performed weekly or every two weeks. The intervention lasts aproximately thirty minutes.
The peelings can be repeated regularly in order to improve the state of the skin constantly.
There are some peelings more effective but also more agressive (phénol) that require local anaesthesia.
The results can be compared then with the ones obtained after a dermabrasion or a laser treatment. They are known as chemical peelings that cause the skin to peel-off and increase the regeneration of new skin by the application of certain acids on the skin surface. The exfoliation occurs due to the effects of acid on the intercellular cement, with causes the superficial layer of epidermis (corneal layer) to peel-off. It should always be performed under physician´s supervision.
|
|
Photorejuvenation (pulsed light)
Pulsed light acts through the principle of selective photocoagulation and the effect of the new formation of collagen by means of the carbon dioxide laser (ablative and photocoagulator laser frequently used for laser resurfacing) also relies on this principle, which represents another application of this equipment.
The photocoagulation of the reticular layer of the skin would stimulate the fibroblast for the formation of collagen fibers. It would result in a remarkable thickening of fine wrinkles and an improvement in the appearance of photoaged skin. If we also consider the removal of other imperfections caused by photoaging (facial spots and spider veins) using the pulsed light equipment, this would ultimately lead to the desired face rejuvenation.
Photorejuvenation by means of pulsed light is performed at the physician´s office during a period ranging from 1 to 4 sessions that last just a few minutes. It is a painless out-patient procedure, and you will be able to return to your regular social and work life after 24 hours.
|
|
Laser resurfacing
When the aging process is notoriously evidenced by the appearance of wrinkles and furrows, laser resurfacing (laser peeling) is one of the procedures supplementing or replacing surgery. Through the application of an ablative laser, the superficial layers of the skin are removed, which leads to the long-term elimination of wrinkles and furrows. The laser can aso be used for the treatment of serious acne sequels.
The patient shall be able to rest at his/her home for 15 days and to tolerate a reddened appearance (erythema) or changes in pigmentation for some time.
|
|
Tattoo removal
As long as there exist people with tattos, the desire and the necessity of removing them will exist. Almost every tattoo can be removed. However, it is necessary to know that not every tatto can be removed without leaving scars; sometimes is necessary to make an incision and remove the skin tissue where the tattoo is.
The tattoo removal can be carried out using different methods: with laser, dermabrasion, chemical peeling or with intense pulsed light.

LIPOSUCTION (TOP)
|
|
Liposuction
Liposuction for men varies in several ways from female liposuction. Men tend to accumulate fat in the torso (chest and back), abdomen (belly) and flanks (love handles), while women's fat accumulates primarily in the hips, buttocks, and thighs (of course, there are exceptions to this rule).
The tissues of the back, flanks (love handles), and chest where men tend to retain fat are more fibrous than other areas of the body, and therefore may be more difficult to remove.
Men also may develop or accumulate fat in the chest, giving the appearance of breasts, referred to as psuedo-gynecomastia. When an over abundance of breast tissue is present, this is referred to as true gynecomastia. Whether the enlarged breasts are from fat or breast tissue, male liposuction may help. (In some cases, the breast tissue will need to be cut out through a larger incision rather than with liposuction).
The liposuction it´s an ambulatory intervention, done with local anaesthesia. It is neccessary to rest the first 24 hours after the intervention at home, and returning to the usual activities takes 48 hours. The pacient should wear a special cloth bandage for 3-4 weeks, approximately, and take anti-inflammatories every 6 or 8 hours. The final result can be seen 2 months after the operation.
|
|
Ab-etching
The ab-etching is a revolutionary process that delicately removes any excess subcutaneous adipose form (read fat) in between the abdominal muscles.
A candidate for ab-etching is someone with already low fat levels. If one has excess fat, the fat will still act as cover for the underlying muscle.
The procedure is intended as a final option to obtain midsection 'clarity' (i.e a six pack). Instead of merely suctioning excess fat, the abdomen is “sculpted” so that the stomach is not only flat, but defined, as well.
In many instances of ab-etching a local anesthetic is sufficient (as is the case if only the love handles are being removed). If a patient is having both sides as well as the front done, then general anesthesia is usually a preferable choice. A full abdominal etching procedure can be completed in approximately two hours with each incision requiring only a single stitch. Like in the case of a liposuction, it is neccessary to rest the first 24 hours after the intervention at home, and returning to the usual activities takes 48 hours.

DERMOLIPECTOMIES (TOP)
|
|
When obesity and aggravated excess skin exists (important flaccidity) it is necessary to eliminate the excess and improve the corporal contour with interventions known as dermolipectomies, the most common being the abdomen dermolipectomy or tummy tuck, and the internal faces of the thighs or arms.
Long scars are necessary, but they are localized on the “hidden” anatomic folds beneath underwear or bathing suits.
The dermolipectomy is ambulatory, with local anesthesia and sedation in small cases and general anesthesia in larger ones. Relative domiciliary repose under a week, then return to social life. Sports activities after one month.
|
|
Abdomen dermolipectomy (Tummy tuck)
An abdomen dermolipectomy is a surgical intervention that consists on removing the excess of skin and fat of the lower part of the abdomen. This surgery makes possible to remove the distended skin and to tighten the abdomen´s muscles; it´s a way to « make younger » the lower abdomen.
Depending on the case, the surgery can be ambulatory, using local or general anaesthesia. Two days of internment are necessary. The surgery must be followed by total rest for the period of one week at home. It is possible to start practicing a sport again but only a month after the intervention. This is not a surgery for reducing weight.
|
|
Arms dermoplipectomy
The excess of fat tissue in the arms can cause aesthetic and functional problems. A simple liposuction is not enough because the result is excess of flacid skin. That´s the reason why an arm dermolipectomy is necessary: the skin is removed, leaving scars –easy to hide- in the internal face of the arm. Usually it is recommended the use of a compressive bandage during 2-3 months to obtain the correct scaring.
Depending on the case, the surgery can be ambulatory, using local or general anaesthesia. The surgery must be followed by total rest for the period of one week at home. It is possible to start practicing a sport again but only a month after the intervention. This is not a surgery for reducing weight.
|
|
Thighs dermolipectomy
The localised fat and the flaccidity of the internal face of the thighs represent quite a problem in men and women of all ages. A combined surgery, liposuction plus thigh dermolipectomy is the most frequent solution to eliminate the excess of fat and skin.
Depending on the case, the surgery can be ambulatory, using local anaesthesia; or total anaesthesia can be used in the most important cases. The surgery must be followed by total rest for the period of one week. It is possible to start practicing a sport again but only a month after the intervention.
|
|
Buttocks dermolipectomy and buttocks lift
The buttocks dermolipectomy is the surgery aimed to redefine the buttocks lines and to eliminate the excess of fat and skin of the area. When the most important problem is the excess of cutaneous tissu and stretch marks (the “sad or baggy buttocks”) the ideal solution is a buttocks lift.
When one wants to give more volume to the buttocks, an implant or a lipofilling is needed. This intervention, depending on the case, can be carried out under local or total anesthesia. A day of internment is required as well as compressive elastic garment in the following 15 days.

Gynecomastia (breast reduction in men)
The gynecomastia or abundant growth in glandular and fatty tissue in the male breast occurs in roughly 40 to 60% of men.
Although gynecomastia can and does occur in persons of normal weight or body fat composition, it may occur simply from being overweight. If this is the case, you may wish to follow a sensible and exercise program to see if this corrects the problem. If you presently adhere to a good and healthy exercise regimen and you still feel as though you have fatty breasts, you may have gynecomastia.
If you choose to have the tissue removed it can be done by liposuction (traditional liposuction, internal or external ultrasound-assisted liposuction, tumescent liposuction, and ultrasound lipolysis).
The treatment area is then injected with Lidocaine and epinephrine and possibly saline for tumescent liposuction. Incisions are made near the nipple and either a liposuction cannula is inserted for fat removal only or if removal of excess breast tissue is needed, it is excised manually. The area is recontoured to a more pleasing appearance.
If you were given Light Sleep Sedation you may be allowed to go within 2 to 3 hours. If you were given General the office will want to keep you around for a bit longer, plus you may get a little sick.
You must have someone to drive you and care for you for the first few days. This person must be dependable as he or she will need to help you to the bathroom, dressing, walking, eating, etc. If you have stitches they are removed within the first 5 - 10 days. You will be instructed not to exercise or engage in strenuous activities for at least 2 to 4 weeks.
|
|
Pectoral implants
Even with frequent exercise, men sometimes find that they are still unable to achieve the chest development that they desire. Pectoral implants shape, enlarge, and firm the chest muscles, helping one attain the look they want while still allowing a natural appearance when the pectoral muscles are either flexed or relaxed.
The surgery is carried out under general anesthesia. An incision is made high in the armpit and a pocket is made beneath the chest muscle and on top of the ribs. A soft, solid silicone implant is cut to specifically fit each patient and inserted into the pocket. A very small dressing is placed under the arms and the patient can typically see the change immediately after surgery.
During the recovery period, the patient is instructed not to lift their arms for two days after surgery. Dressings are then removed followed by a gentle exercise program within 1-2 weeks to enable a full and comfortable range of motion of the arms. Generally within a week or two, physical use of the upper body muscles may be resumed and within one month, full pectoral muscular activity may be recommenced.

Buttocks
For those people with stubborn persistently flat buttocks there is finally a way to achieve perfect shape and increase of volume.
The operation requires that the patient stays in a face down position. A 5-6 cm vertical incision is made in the well-hidden buttock center crease (sacrum).
The dissection continues on either side of the sacrum until the buttock muscle is reached. At this point the muscle is incised and with careful dissection the implant pocket is created within the muscle. The implants are inserted into the newly created pockets and the muscle is closed over the implants, the midline incision is then closed in layers. If liposuction is to be done, this is performed through separate incisions.
Buttock implants surgery lasts two hours and it is performed under general anesthesia or epidural and sedation depending upon patient's preferences and medical criteria.
Recovery period is comfortable and short; 10 to 12 days after surgery, patients are approved to leave and return back home.
It usually takes 20 to 30 days to get back to normal activities and doctors will emphasize on avoiding overdoing it during the first month in order to heal properly.
|
|
Biceps
Bicep implants can create muscular definition and increased mass/fullness in the upper arm area. This procedure is specifically useful for those men and women who, even after extensive muscular conditioning, can't achieve the upper arm toning they desire.
Bicep Implants are also recommended for those unique instances when an injury has occurred and muscle mass augmentation is needed to achieve normal balance.
An incision is made, a soft, solid silicone implant is cut to specifically fit each patient and inserted into the pocket. A very small dressing is placed and the patient can typically see the change immediately after surgery.
During the recovery period, the patient is instructed not to lift their arms for two days after surgery. Dressings are then removed followed by a gentle exercise program within 1-2 weeks to enable a full and comfortable range of motion of the arms. Generally within a week or two, physical use of the upper body muscles may be resumed and within one month, full muscular activity may be recommenced.

Calves
Calf implants (calf augmentation) are a procedure to increase the size and shape of the calf. Many people are dissatisfied with the shape/size of their calf muscles to the point that they avoid wearing garments that expose their legs. In these instances, even intensive exercise may not significantly enlarge the calf muscles, particularly in relation to one’s larger thigh muscles.
Calf implants can also be used to correct deformities resulting from injury or nerve diseases that result in muscle deterioration.
Calf implants enhance the shape and size of the calf muscles by placing soft, solid silicone implants in pockets overlying the existing gastrocnemius muscles. These implants are placed through small incisions in the creases behind the knee. The legs are measured at a pre-operative office visit and the appropriately sized implants are ordered and prepared sterile. On the day of surgery the patient is placed under general anesthesia and turned onto the stomach on the operating room table.
The first day or two the patient is in bed with legs elevated most of the time but is up to the bathroom with assistance and may even walk around short distances. After two days the dressings are removed and the person is encouraged to begin a more vigorous routine of walking around. This allows the muscles to start becoming accustomed to having the implants present and allows the skin of the legs to start stretching and feeling more comfortable. The patient is usually able to return to full physical activities within 4-6 weeks.

Phalloplasty
Phalloplasty is the surgical enlargement of the penis. Length as well as circumference can be enhanced, an inch to two and a half inches longer and up to fifty percent thicker (except for the head).
Lengthening:The length you achieve can not be predetermined before the surgery, it all depends on how much length you have inside of you being supported by ligaments that the surgeon cuts detaching the penis from the pubic bone, allowing the penis to extend fully from the body
The limiting factor is the patient's own anatomy. Postoperative stretching or weights are essential to success.
Girth Enhancement :As far as girth (thickness) enhancement goes you have a few options:
. Free fat transfer
. AlloDerm
. Dermal fat grafts
With Free fat transfer your own fat is gathered using liposuction then the fat cells are treated to help reduce the chance of absorption and then transferred into your penis.
The Dermal Graft technique is the most invasive of the options because skin is removed from a donor site somewhere on your body and then treated and transferred to your penis.

Permanent make-up (skin pigmentation)
The permanent make-up, also known as skin pigmentation, is an effective solution when we need to correct defects like labial asymmetries, very narrow or almost nonexistent lips; too big or very small eyes without expression; irregular eyebrow contours; nipples (areola correction), etc.
It offers the comfort of always looking beautiful with the delineated eyes, smoothly outstanding lips and impeccable brows without the necessity of putting on make-up.
Coloured pigment is brought immediately under the skin. With permanent make-up, only the upper layers of skin are coloured and without another session the colour will fade in 3-5 years.
Small scabs can appear on the treated area up to a week after the treatment. These should not be rubbed off. For 5-10 days after your treatment you must refrain from swimming, sauna, sun bathing and the relevant cosmetics such as eye shadow, mascara, lipstick and lip liner.
|
|
Definite hair laser removal
The hair laser removal system damages the melamine or coloration follicles in a selective and permanent form; it is a method simple that doesn't require recovery time since it doesn't produce pigmentations or stains in the treated area and because it offers permanent results.
This type of treatments are for men as well as for women of all ages and can be practised in any area of one´s body.
They are required between six and fifteen sessions for the total elimination of the body hair. The number of sessions varies for each patient, depending on the area, the density of the body hair and the characteristics of the skin. This type of method doesn't require anesthesia or sedation.
|
|
Umbilicoplasty (belly button aesthetic surgery)
Patients seeking tummy tucks often have their bellybuttons reshaped as an adjunct of the surgery, but now, with the popularity of belly rings and barely-clad fashions, more and more patients are willingo to specifically change the appearance of their bellybutton.
Your bellybutton is your very first scar. It's scar tissue left over from where the umbilical cord joined you to your mother's placenta when you were in her womb. The abdominal wall is made up of various layers, including skin, muscle and fat. They are all fused together at your bellybutton. You have subcutaneous fat that plumps up the skin all over your body.
But the fat cannot lift the skin at the bellybutton, because the skin at that location is fused to your abdominal wall. That's why the bellybutton is concave. In the 'outie', there is a protuberant mass of subcutaneous scar tissue between the bottom of the bellybutton and the muscle wall of the abdomen. This scar turns the concave 'innie' into a convex 'outie'.
The umbilicoplasty procedure is quick, taking only 30 to 90 minutes to do, and is performed under local or twilight anesthesia. Much of the muscle work can be done with an endoscope to minimize scars, and any scars that do remain are usually hidden in the umbilical depression. If muscle repair is included, then a patient may experience some discomfort during the recovery.
However patients can return to their daily routines the very next day.

|
Tracheal shave: Adam´s apple
The technique requires an incision in the area of the most prominent portion of the tracheal cartilage. The incision is usually 3 to 4 cm in length, depending on the size of the patient. Through this incision the surgeon is able to separate the muscles in the midline and expose the tracheal cartilage. The tracheal cartilage is reduced, usually by carving it with a knife.
The procedure is done under local anesthetic on most patients and the sutures are usually o removed a week after surgery.
|
|
Transpiration (profuse sweating)
Profuse sweating, often with its typical odor, can be awkward. Wet hand palms may wrongly suggest anxiety. Wet armpits or socks can be a social hindrance. Fortunately there is modern medicine to offer hope.
The sweat glands of the armpits, hand palms and feet can be temporarily paralyzed by the injection of diffuse botulinum toxin into these areas. The effect lasts for about three months.
In areas that are difficult to anaesthetize with local anesthetic, intravenous sedation can be of great help. In that case, rather than walking straight out of the hospital after the therapy, you stay in one of our comfortable patient rooms for the day-until optimal recovery.
A permanent solution of crippling hyperhidrosis can be found in endoscopic treatment of the nerves that cause the problem. In this case, the sweat glands of the armpits are removed surgically. This offers a permanent cure. It is a treatment preferred by patients who suffer severe, year-round, sweating problems.

Lipoatrophy
Lipoatrophy is believed to be caused by long-term HIV infection or as a result of taking certain anti-HIV drugs. Exactly how HIV or medications to treat HIV causes fat loss remains unknown, though some suspect damage to the energy source of cells (called mitochondria) may play a role.
Long-term solutions include permanent implants of material or injections of substances that are not absorbed by the body.
The surgeons at Pride Doctors use Bio Alcamd for it is permanent and without observed side effects even when injected in big quantities.
