The goal of this treatment is to improve the odds of pregnancy at the time of the cycle of ovulation.
In order to achieve this goal, the ovulation is provoked by a hormonal treatment, with the objective of getting the development of one or two mature follicles (every follicle consists of an ovum) and, therefore, the good quality of the ovum.
The control is made by ultra-sounds, and under clinical supervision, in order to make match the next period of ovulation with one the following factors:
ovular stimulation and programmed coitus; usual in cases of unsettled ovulation or barrenness without obvious reasons, with migrations of normal spermatozoids.
intra-uterine insemination; a simple procedure of assisted fertilization, that consists on depositing optimally the spermatozoids in order to facilitate a pregnancy.
The preparation of the semen can be achieved with the help of different techniques(Percoll,Swim-Up), of a length of 60 minutes, which is done on the day of the insemination.
The insemination is achieved in the physician's cabinet and only takes some minutes.
It´s a simple procedures whose hindrance is limited, where the patient takes a rest for some instants and then can return to her normal activities.
